The highly-anticipated TV series adaptation of the popular video game “The Last of Us” is finally here, and fans of the game and newcomers alike are in for a treat. The series, which will air on HBO, is set to explore the world of the game in greater depth and bring the characters to life in a whole new way. I for one am very excited, and am sure I’ll be having some nostalgic moments.

“The Last of Us” is set in a post-apocalyptic world where most of humanity has been wiped out by a fungal infection. The story follows Joel, a hardened survivor, and Ellie, a young girl with a mysterious immunity to the infection, as they navigate the dangers of the new world and form a powerful bond. The game, which was released in 2013, was praised for its emotional storytelling, complex characters, and stunning visuals. The show will feature an all-star cast, including Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

Based on other reviews (since I don’t have the privilege to screen the show early) the TV series is also expected to raise some moral dilemmas, as well as to show the complicated and harsh reality of the post-apocalyptic world, where the rules of survival are different and where human beings are pushed to their limits. This show sounds like its not going to be your regular “post-apocalyptic” show.

Overall, the “The Last of Us” TV series is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of the game, as well as for anyone who loves gripping storytelling and complex characters. With its all-star cast and talented team behind the scenes, this series is sure to be a hit. This is my “too-early” pick for Emmy nominated show, you heard it here first. Cheers my friends!
