The Lost Wild

Trailer Here

There are several dinosaur games that are coming out if you have not heard. For this blog I’ll be discussing the game “The Lost Wild”, has some Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Alien Insulation to name a few.

From the limited information I know about this game, it starts of you playing a reporter/journalist who somehow gets stranded on an island filled with animals we recognize, deer and such plus dinosaurs! You have some help from a mysterious voice from a radio (reminds me of Bioshock). I from what I understand sounds like you’ll be dealing with dinosaurs mainly in a non-lethal way, distractions, stealth mode, or even scaring the dinosaurs away from you using whatever you find along your journey. I could be wrong on this and you may be able to find weapons to attack dinosaurs, but it does sound more like a survival game if you have limited resources.

The game is planned to be released by 2024, and even though in the trailer it says its available for Steam, the developers do plan to release on consoles too not just PC. As a fan of the Dino Crisis game, I am glad someone is making a dinosaur survival game, and look forward to more information about this game in the future.

Returning to Pokemon Cards

Pokemon cards. I’ve seen them a lot lately, but because of a good friend of mine he’s convinced me to go back and try “to catch them all” again. Thanks Craig 🙂

I’m returning to collecting them, because i kinda have a sad story about it. I once had a folder of the base collection. Yes the original set of Pokemon cards. I am not gonna lie and say I had all the rare cards I didn’t even have the Charizard. But I did have Alakazam, I did have Blastoise and others. I’d save my money from my allowance I received and bought cards. Yes I even used them to play the actual game. I did not know the value they would be today lol. But I made the mistake of taking my folder to school. I put it in my locker and when I went back, my folder of Pokemon cards was gone. Disappeared. I asked and I did what I could as far as investigating and at the time no one cared if you lost your “playing cards”. At least that how they were looked at.

It was a sad time, it took me awhile to collect those cards. Especially back then as a kid, no job and using what money I got to buy when I could. I didn’t want to start over so I didn’t buy anymore. I still continued my obsession of Pokemon, playing the video games, watching the movies and shows. Took a major hiatus once I was in college, but I never shied away that I collected Pokemon cards at one time. Now years later, I’m back. This time with a adult job and a little bit of spending money now after bills (adult life is expensive) and some influencing from a friend who would share his findings. I’m back at it. Starting a new collection and hopefully I can catch or find them all.

To those who are like me, been a while since you collected or maybe some childhood hobby. Go out there and do it again! Life is short. Enjoy life and do what you love. I’m a grown up who loves pokemon, plays video games, loves anime, and jump in a ball pit because its fun lol. Cheers everyone!

Real Madrid Champions League Champions for the 14th Time!

They did it again! This season was a Cinderella story for Real Madrid. Hard to believe or even say they are a Cinderella team, but their road to victory was a gauntlet. Defeating PSG, Chelsea (the defending Champion), Manchester City, and Liverpool. All with the exception of Liverpool, were comeback victories. But the best one was the one that put them in the final. That game was Manchester City vs Real Madrid. To sum it up, down 3-1 going into the 90th minute and Real score 2 goals in stoppage time to tie the game. Finally in OT score the winner to send them to the final. To go back to the finals and win it again vs that gauntlet was epic! I’ve always said ELP (England) is the toughest to win the League, and other countries have their top teams too, France PSG, Italy Juventus or Milan, but Spain. Spain has the best teams in the world. Now Spanish teams have won 9 of the last 17 Champions League tournaments. I’ve been a fan of Real Madrid since the 90’s, and for the past few decades its been great being a Real Madrid fan! Hala Madrid!

Obi Wan Series is Here

I’ll keep this short,

Finally we have the Obi Wan live action TV series with a highly possible rematch of Obi Wan vs (now) Darth Vader. I am very excited to see this, the current direction of Star Wars series has been exceptional. I do believe Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have surpassed my expectations of the future of Star Wars stories. Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett were excellent, and expect to see Obi Wan series raise that bar. I do hope we get to see the raw power of Vader, vs Obi Wans well known defense style. I can’t wait, even as there are only hours until the show officially is releasing the first 2 episodes. Here’s to a great series and epic battles especially Vader vs Obi Wan. Cheers everyone!

@playstation, the best console since 1995! I look forward to the PS5! You’ve been there for me since high school, college, my move to a new city, keeping me in touch with my friends and family playing online even to this date. You made smart moves such as adopting Blu-Ray, your controller design, and having the BEST exclusive games ever. Now my family uses it too to now watch their shows and stream movies. I look forward to the release of the PlayStation 5, and continue to be a loyal costumer. #thankYouPlaystation #playstation #PS1 #PS2 #PS3 #PS4 #PS5ComingSoon #sony #red #psController #fanArt #game #gameArt #adobe #illustrator #playstationPlusAwesomeToo

Peacemaker Report

by: PhantomRicon

Today I was finally able to finish Season 1 of Peacemaker. No spoilers just my take on the show. I have to admit the hype is real. The show is very entertaining and fun. It can get dark and gory, but still has that “James Gunn” feel to the show. I’d even say John Cena was meant to play the Peacemaker.

The show takes place right after the Suicide squad movie, so if you haven’t seen it it may help to watch it first. Both Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are on HBO Max. Right now it’s looking like with Zach Snyder not currently in the picture, James Gunn is doing what James Gunn does. Take a “not so popular” character(s) from comics and making them likeable and fun. You’d be asking yourself “why have i not read or heard of these guys before”. I do see some characteristics from Guardians of the Galaxy Quill in the Peacemaker. From my view I feel like Peacemaker was what Gunn wanted to go and do with Guardians, but maybe Disney stepped in and said to keep it down on the violence and language. Right now I feel like we are getting the visualization of what James Gunn has always wanted to do with a comic book movie/series. Too keep this short or me my favorite character is Vigilante, the other characters show great chemistry with each other and make the show entertaining. They do touch on the other popular characters the Batman, flash and such in a very creative way. The intro to the show has a dance that I’m sure you are seeing or starting to see people do on social media. This show is defenitly a hit, and can’t wait to see where they go with Season 2, with James Gunn back as Director and writer of the season.

Battlefield 2042 Revisited 2/10 Rating

2/10 Rating

Well I sit here now and apologizing to everyone I told about this new battlefield being the next great multiplayer game. How it was gonna surpass Warzone. Well a few months later and several issues now have gone and continue to happen such as low sales, low player activity in the game, poor gameplay, graphics, and above all not really a true Battlefield game that at least in my opinion is not the the standard that is Battlefield 4.

The very first time I played it and saw the gameplay I had concerns. The game started and I looked at the graphics and was appalled. These graphics are not very detailed, no real “leveloution” as I like to call it where things can be destroyed like buildings. It takes like 6 rockets to destroy a tank, and I believe I heard about a sniper rifle doing more damage than a rocket to destroy a tank?!

Come on DICE/EA. You gotta do better. Especially now Warzone, and Halo Infinite multiplayer out and I’d say they left Battlefield in the desert. I know they are working on things, the price of their game has dropped and there are even rumors BF2042 may be free to play soon. It’s unfortunate because I was one of the many who bought the $100 package.

If BF2042 fix things great, but now I think I’ll just wait a couple of months if they make another game or even a DLC for it. For now I’m done with BF2042 and will go back or I guess crawl back to Warzone and other multiplayer games who I said would not compete. Anyone looking to play BF2042. Save your money and maybe use it to customize your chacraters in Warzone, Halo Infinite or any other multiplayer games. Battlefield 2042 right now…is not worth it.

Lifeline

Text-Based Gaming

I’d like to talk to you all about “Text-based” games. They were the first of its kind in the gaming word. No graphics, just you reading a story and making decisions for your character throughout the game. Every decision you make will affect how the game will continue. Maybe it will end quickly, or maybe you make it all the way to the end. Or if you make it to the end do you get the good ending or the bad ending. It’s a simple concept, anyone can play these games and are easy to learn. Even your grandparents can pick it up pretty quickly.

One game that I recall playing recently is Lifeline from 3 Minute Games Inc. Imagine yourself as a lone survivor in space name Taylor. Spaceship crashes on the moon, and now you take Taylor and make decisions that could either help him survive or end his life out in space. To my fellow sci-fans whether its movies, games, or books, this one I think you will enjoy! It is available for download on any device. I believe currently its available for $1.99. I know free is better :), but for $2 I think it was worth it to play during lunch breaks or breaks at work, or if you’re like me a quick game to play while in the restroom lol.

I enjoyed this game, and loved all the different choices and outcomes, and has shown up as a top 10 “Texted-based” video game out right now. Overall the game was entertaining and I hope maybe some of you would try it out as well.

What Project Spartacus Needs to Be

By
James Morris aka Buttered Biscuits
Back in December of 2020, news broke out that Sony plans to launch a
program that would be Playstation’s answer to Xbox’s wildly successful
Game Pass rumored to be labeled Project Spartacus. So far not much has
been released regarding Project Spartacus other than a few rumors here and
there regarding Playstation legacy content coming to PS5 (maybe Ps4 as
well) and a potential tier subscription service. The only thing that is official
that is known is that we will have more information regarding Project
Spartacus next month at Playstation’s next State of Play, Sony has recently
called for Playstation Now gift cards to be ceases in the UK, and that Sony
plans on releasing this new initiative Spring of this year. So banking on if
Project Spartacus is a Game Pass like subscription service, here are some
ideas that should be considered.

1) DROP THE THREE TIER CONCEPT

There is a rumor floating that Sony is planning on a three tier
subscription service with Project Spartacus. The lowest tier being the bare
bones basics of Playstation Plus allowing a user to access the Playstation
Network and the current benefits of Plus. The second tier allows access to
digital access to PS4 titles on top of those listed below and finally the top tier
allows access to all Playstation legacy content plus access to the cloud,
demos and much more. Keep in mind this all speculation and rumor at this
time until it of course becomes a reality. However, the issue is simple here.
Why have three tiers when your competitors are marketing two tiers. Yes,
Xbox technically has 3 tiers but how Microsoft advertises, you’d forget that
there is Xbox Live Gold and a basic Game Pass option when Game Pass
Ultimate, which combines both services with the addition of Game Pass PC
and EA Access, for a modest $15 a month US.
Sony needs to keep it simple for their customers as they enter the arena
of subscriptions. As mentioned above, Nintendo and Xbox have already
drawn the line in the sand in regards to their offerings. From Nintendo, they
offer their basic Nintendo Online service, which allows access to cloud
services, online play, and access to SNES and NES video games. Nintendo’s
‘high tier’ model dubbed the Expansion Pass allows users the same benefits
mentioned before as well as access to Sega and N64 titles as well as the DLC
for Animal Crossing New Horizons for a total of $50 US. Sony having a
three tier system at this time, could cause some confusion in those not savvy
enough in the offerings or might put off customers feeling as if they are being
alienated by the paywalls put in place by a potential high price of a
subscription. Thus brings us to our next idea.

2) Make It Affordable

We currently live in an era where we are bombarded by subscriptions to
our favorite films and TV shows, now with gaming becoming part of the mix,
these prices can loom heavy on gamers on a budget. From Netflix prices
rising again and our consumption of streaming content rises, Sony should
consider keeping prices competitive with Nintendo and Microsoft’s pricing
model. Going to pricey on the top-tier subscription, if this does come to
fruition, could spell a potential introduction yield at launch. A $15 dollar
price tag is more than reasonable for access to Playstation legacy library as
well as access to third party content should the top tier service allow such a
feature.
Sony should even consider playing the long game even after the launch
of Spartacus, by constantly pulling a page of Xbox’s playbook by enticing
current subscribers to jump to the next tier for a cheap price like $1 and even
allow customer’s current subscriptions to allocate to the amount of months a
user would get if they had joined the top-tier level ala what Microsoft allows
on Game Pass Ultimate. This would allow an even more acceptance of the
service and also build their install base.

3) Content, Content, Content

What makes Game Pass such a dominating juggernaut in the gaming
industry right now is their constant flow of content being added to their
service monthly and sometimes weekly from all numbers of developers.
From indie darlings like Hades and Goat Simulator to big titles from AAA
developers like EA Games and more, there is much to experience that gamers
would never have been able to try out any other way without slapping down
cold hard cash and hoping for a good experience.
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan has already stated to the
media back in September of 2020, that Playstation exclusives will not be on
the subscription service which would be a huge step backwards considering
Microsoft allows for their first party games to hit their service day one. Not
being able to hop into God of War Ragnarok or Spider-Man 2 day one as part
of your Spartacus subscription would be a huge let down in my opinion to the
consumer. Jim Ryan has also stated that these games cost millions to make
and that adding them to a subscription plan just wouldn’t be sustainable.
Seeing the overwhelming success of games like Sea of Thieves and Halo
Infinite, seeing how first party Sony titles wouldn’t see the same amount of
success boggles the mind.
I truly hope Sony releases something that rivals Game Pass as it will
bring more competition to the field and in return, cause more innovation to
both services. Phil Spencer has come out saying that a Game Pass like service
for Sony is the right move and I believe that as well. We are in a new era of
gaming experience with services such as these and can only wait and see how
the continue to evolve. For now, we have to wait for more information on
Project Spartacus next month at Sony’ State of Play but until then, we here at
Unsung Gamers will continue to save the world, one game at a time.
