Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a bold expansion of the original game, split into three parts. Following the 2020 Remake’s retelling of the Midgar story, Rebirth offers vast open zones for exploration, detailed worlds, and engaging side activities. The game strengthens the bond between players and characters, allowing direct control over party members and showcasing their backstories. Retaining the flashy combat of the Remake, Rebirth introduces strategic depth and synergy abilities, enhancing gameplay. Despite exceptional voice acting, some changes to the source material and pacing issues detract from the overall experience. With a lengthy main story and numerous side quests, Rebirth offers substantial content, including the engaging trading card mini-game “Queen’s Blood” and challenging rhythm mini-games. Despite minor technical issues, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sets a high standard and promises an even more spectacular conclusion in the third installment.
